Hi- I'm new here but wanted to share some hopefully, helpful information.
My daughter was diagnoised with ATN and we did the MVD and it didn't work.
Neuratin, Lyrica, etc....you can only take so much and then you become a zombie and it's really a trade off. My daughter was taking Lyrica and Lymictal and with some help from a member of another board the Lyrica and Lymictal where working against each other so we stopped the Lymictal.
After all my daughter went through we came to find out that she has Cervical Myofascial Pain and Mastictory Myofascial pain. Very interesting to say the least. Now she is off all TN meds and is only taking Elavil and Tizanadine at night, and 10 mils of baclofen during the day- working like a charm.
ATN is often misdiagnoised as is TN. Here a link to check your symptoms and some information to read.
OK- so I can't post a link because I only have 6 posts....google Namptpt
It's a great tool and really was the first that I have ever seen that describes my daughters pain to a tee.
My daughter is taking 50 mgs of Elavil per day- at night only.
Here's another link: google "round earth head pain" and click on the first link.
Be sure to read because you would be totally surprised at "referred pain" from your shoulder, neck, SCM's, etc.
Hope you feel better soon.
