Hi JJ,

I hear you. I've been in constant agony since a terrible car accident a couple years ago. It is hard to explain to someone who hasn't experienced it, how chronic pain wears one down.

I went through a phase of "why me?" I didn't do anything to deserve what happened to me. I was just living my simple, quiet life until some selfish drunk ploughed into me. I thought, "I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time." The more I thought about that, the more I realized that it could have been anybody. Then I began to accept the randomness of fate and my thinking went from "why me?" to "why not me?"

The point is, these things can happen to any of us at anytime. All we get to decide is how we live with it. It's not easy, but coming here, and knowing you're not alone can help more than you might imagine. Here, you're among friends who understand.
