When the "neurologist" decided to take me off anti-epileptic drugs after 40 years, he have me 7 tablets of sodium valproate, told me to take them over a 10 day period. He then wrote to my GP telling him that he had weaned me off the drugs and not to prescribe any more.
There was no follow up appointments and I was left to get on with it. I got off quite lightly I think. After 8 weeks of withdrawals I convulsed so hard that I fractured my spine. Is it any wonder that I have little respect for doctors?
