Except I've had a couple of candies. Which I'll count. But help if you can.

What do I do. I'm usually not this high.

Do I worry about if it goes higher or is this high.

Hi there:

Sit back and take a breather. You're not leaving this earth (at least not yet). I know you are worried. You should have seen the first time my sugar hit 400 and all I did was shovel snow. I never knew that intense activity could immediately raise one's blood sugar.

But I got educated ...and so will you.

Now you know that you are not supposed to be eating candy. So stop that behavior immediately. Drink water, that's IMPORTANT!!! Flushes all kinds of stuff out of your body. Unless of course you are a kidney patient and the doctor told you not to drink more than 8 oz a day.

But I suspect that is not what's happening here. You hit 176 and you are concerned.

Do you know your A1c. That's a 3 month average of your glucose level.

I don't know if you are type one or type 2, are skinny or overweight, but one thing is for sure.

Drink plenty of water, watch the carbs, don't eat ANYTHING with sugar. Eat small meals every 4 or 5 hours. Don't load up on stuff.

It took me a long long time to get a handle on what I put into my body. But for me, it's important because I don't want to see those high readings.

But sometimes (because we are diabetic), we WILL get a high reading once in a while. It happens.

Keep testing (that is important.

And let us know how you are doing.

And don't drive yourself nuts. If you can, go out and walk around you area. Get oxygen into your body. Swing your arms.

MOVE YOUR BODY. Works wonders. Gets everything all circulating and moving.

You can do this.

Take care, Melody
