In fact the tendon ruptures came to light from doctors who consumed free samples of Cipro back when, and then developed tendon ruptures on the squash courts or golf courses! They reported those, but will be very unlikely to report or help patients. In fact it is thought at about 1% are ever reported--adverse events.
