I haven't studied PN but I have learned a lot about trigger points.
I used the hands on self therapy for my RSI TrPs.
The ones I couldn't get rid of myself , my chiro worked on and was able to resolve them.
Do you think you have actual trigger points? {info links below}
If you do are you sure they are related to the PN or could you possibly have a secondary condition that involves the muscles/fascia?
I would try acupuncture and/or manual TrP and then move to the injections if I felt a need.

IF stim - Inferential stimulation {like TENS only better for some things}
TrPs-

They are located in the muscles but they can cause referred pain & symptoms in other places.
