I am SO sorry. I just went through the same thing (not 25 years, though). I feel that the finality of ending your job is awakening. It means that this IS real. It means a loss of pride and self. It means a loss of control. I am hurting for you now; and I don't want YOU to hurt. It means that you are now unemployed in a VERY bad economy and must rely on someone other than yourself to maintain. It will all get much better, once you digest everything.
