To answer your question.. polyneuropathy is a type of peripheral neuropathy.

To break down the word literally it means "many nerve disease". (hurray for medical terminology)

There are cases where people only have a mononeuropathy such as carpal tunnel. (mono being the prefix for one)


Do you know what type of nerve damage you specifically have?
I know you have many nerves affected.. but did your EMG show damage to the myelin, axon.. both?
Distal vs. proximal?
