Wink Common Interests...

Hi Jennifer ....

One thing to consider is getting involved with a group that is about something you are simply interested in, rather than one that defines you by a diagnsis.

One of my friends has so much fun with others who love cats. Some groups are for those who like to keep a particular type of fish, those who are enthusiasts for dogs or who just love their pets. Or a group of people who like the same TV shows or music or movies or celebrities. Or travel - in you are interested in a particular country or area of the world. Or hobby - cross-stitch or other needlework, making various kinds of crafted items, or so many other types of hobbie. Many school/academic clubs that have online versions. The internet has groups of people for every interest.

And when you need support and validation for issues related to your neurological problems, the larger a particular group, the more likely you are to bump into someone who has things in common with you -the basis for a friendship- and who has the need for and time for an online friendship. If you lurk on the friendship chat topic forum, you can meet others who are looking for connections and friendships, and who will be sympathetic to your particular neurological issues.

But I will assure you that this is a very friendly community, and when you need support and validation, you will receive it...

Teri
