Here are some meds to suggest to your doctor. There are all sorts of anticonvulsants and antidepressants, but a pain doctor I've seen recommended these. Klonopin - fast acting and works well on the burning pain. I've used it along with Ultram ER(works a LOT better than the regular and your pain doc should know that). Both baclofen and zanaflex are muscle relaxers which can also help with nerve pain. Remember that we all react different to meds but this should give you plenty to talk about. The Ultram ER and klonopin combo works fast as you don't have to wait for them to build up in your system. Let us know what you try and what works for you. Hang in there!
