First thing that came to mind was my pets but they aren't a "thing". They're family.
Like Joelle said, if one of my kids needed something and I could sell something to get it I would. As a Mom there's nothing I wouldn't do for one of my children.
I have my parent's old Bibles. They each had one....exactly the same.....but Mom's was much more worn out than Dad's. I wouldn't part with them, either. They meant alot to my parents and for some reason I feel like they are just way to special to ever leave my grip. Now, if my sister wanted to have them I'd give them to her in a second. I know they'd be safe with her.
