My heirlooms probably are only valuable to me, so there's no point selling them for whatever reason. But other things that are kinda special, if the need arose, I could part with.

One time I sold diamond earrings to pay for my dog's surgery - she was WAY more valuable than any stones. And this year I came within inches of getting rid of my Amish oak dining room because it was not gonna fit in the new house. Whew! Close call, lol.

It's great to have special things, but they don't rule my life.



Aarcyn - My mom's engagement ring, a big ol' vintage saphire, she passed directly to my dd on her 18th BDay. They are both September babies. Funny, my dgd shares my birthmonth too - April. She's 3 and already interested in my jewelry, chip off the old block.
