I have a drum table that was my maternal grandmother's. My mother loved it. I have it in my crawlspace
. I was going to give it to my DS34, but he keeps getting divorced so much that I don't want it to go to any future former wife
It needs to be sanded and stained, but it's beautiful. I am unsure how old it is, but I'll never sell it.
I also have a small blue sugar and creamer that came over on the boat from Belgium with my DH's great grandparents. I also promised that to the DS, but for the same reason it's staying in my china cabinet.
Oh, and every year when we decorate the Christmas tree, there is one ornament that only I put on the tree.
It is a cheap cornsilk ornament that was my grandma's...it has a tiny picture of an angel's face glued on it. My mother used to hang it on her tree, and now I do the same, as a rememberance of them. I am thinking of giving it to my only daughter...she "gets" it...she always makes sure no one else hangs it.
