We had a tremor in Toledo back in 1988 or 1989. The epicenter I think was in SW Illinois near St. Louis. It rattled the china in the china cabinet. Otherwise, not really noticeable.

I chased Tornados growing up in SE Michigan. Never caught one - I blame the slow news guys on the radio. It was kinda fun driving around trying to catch them with our case of Stroh's and...

I really don't like natural disasters, but I think the worst would be a catastrophic fire. It's amazing how much you can retrieve when a hurricane rips your house away and dumps 4 feet of ocean in your living room. We saved about 15% of our possessions (my wife claims 0%, but she's the one who lost 150 pairs of shoes). Ya can't do that in a fire.
