RW, I did two course of antibiotics the time before last, and then I finally went in to see my GP (instead of the clinic). He opted to send the results to the lab, because the "quick test" they give seemed to indicate the UTI had cleared.

As it turned out, it was a different bacteria (or strain, not sure what they call it), and it DID show up on the lab results. I was given 7 or 10 days of some kind of med, and THEN it finally cleared.

I just got over another UTI, which showed as "bad" on the quick test. They immediately put me on 10 days of a drug ... no use screwing around this time.

So, it may be that it is not showing up on the quick test, and they may need to send it to the lab.
