Hi All,

I know that there are many still fighting the fight. And I will be here to
listen, and do what ever I can to help you.

BUt I wanted to share the celebration that my son Derrick has had
this christmas season.

He received word around the 10th of December that he would be getting
a letter stating that he was eligible for SSI.
THen on December 13th when I picked up the mail, he received his backpay
check, before even receiving his letter of acceptance or how much he
was going to make.

Now this was a very nice christmas present. See my husband has been
laid off, for 3 months so money has been tight. And I had put aside
money for Derrick to christmas shop. But not as much as he needed.

So know he had extra. The best thing in this was that because we
had such a good relationship the worker chose to not make him have
a payee representative. Because she felt he would have me help him
through his steps.

And he will, but she also said, that at any point this needed to change
to let her know.

Yes, Derrick will tell you there is a Santa Claus, he already believes in God.
