Smile Just back from my yearly FM doc visit

For those of you who don't know I see Dr. Don Goldenberg as my FM specialist. He is one of the 10 or 12 major FM research docs in the country and he works with and knows the others as well. So before you think....oh just another specialist, he is one of THE docs in the country. I only see him every 12-18 months as someone who can help my docs in my treatment.
Well he said some interesting new things to me. He has found in studies that he is part of that Cymbalta is not working as well as had been hoped for depression and pain. He said that if I weren't already on it he would have suggested Lexapro in place of it. Also it has been found that Depakote is a good subsitute for those who aren't tolerant of Neurontin or Lyrica. Both meds work on the same brain receptors just in different ways. He also stated that the whole vitamin B thing that most articles are spouting about is overated and that a good Calcium suppliment of 500 or 600 mgs and good Vitamin D suppliment of 4000 units better for you. He also stated that you can find this suppliment in one pill.
So if you are finding that some of your meds don't seem to be working out for you, keep these in mind.
