Methyl is used more now because it does not require activation by the body. It is ready to go.
I have not seen a huge increase in price for this.

Sublingual is not really needed. This product is also sublingual.
But it has been found that high doses 1mg (1000mcg or higher) used orally and swallowed work just as well...as long as you take them on an empty stomach. Food interferes with passive absorption. I have a B12 thread on the stickies here, so take a look. It has details.
It will be higher in stores compared to online places.
