Post Confusing!

Well, I am unclear if you took that Aygestin?
Aygestin is not to be used during pregnancy. It can masculinize a female fetus.

There is an over the counter product called Expecta. You might look into that.
It is DHA only. Discuss this with your doctor as well.

You should take the vitamins designed for pregnancy...they have the proper ratios of B6, folic acid and low Vit A. The information on fish oil is not as
solid as with DHA derived from algae sources.

I personally would not self medicate. And your doctor should give you
recommendations for iron, and how much to take. OB's today are very thorough.

Personally I think the investment in the pregnancy with a quality product, is worth it. If you saw the show on Nat Geo this week, showing developing fetuses, and the millions of brain cells that grow each minute they describe, you'd understand. I assume you have no insurance? Because insurance would cover the prenatal. And one very important thing for you to consider is avoidance of all transfats in foods. These are passed on to the baby, and are not good for brain development.

I hope you carry this baby well. I had a miscarriage from a change of life pregnancy..at 47. It was an awful experience.
I would reschedule the glucose test ASAP and do the proper fast. It is important to have good reliable results-- if you show gestational diabetes, you need careful monitoring.

Good luck!

P.S. you can however add in flax oil into your diet, and hope to convert some for your baby's development.
There are many food sources now with this:
Smart Balance Peanut butter is one example. Flax oil itself is a source of Omega-3s. Buy a quality brand like
Barlean's which is kept refrigerated before sale, and you can add it to your foods yourself. Here is a website that
discusses this:

Eating eggs enriched with Omega-3s is also another option. You need the choline in them for the baby as well, so might as
well eat the ones with DHA too.

Too much EPA in the diet may block AA synthesis, and AA is part of membrane integrity. Since there are warnings now on
fish consumption for pregnant women (toxins), other food sources of DHA are available.
