Every thing is interesting until the power goes out. When it gets cold you don't care about light,or food anymore. Back in 1997 when the power went out I didn't have any resources to get warm. I haven't forgotten about it either.
I have those heat pads that hunters use. I have two portable propane heaters,and a Carbon Monoxide detector. I have a car. I lived in a apartment with no fire place. I don't have a fire place available to me now.
It's only the ice storms that knock out the power,for the most part. The last thing that I did was fill my car with gas before we got the 20 inches of snow a couple of weeks ago. I bought bagels,D batterys,and small propane tanks. I was fortunate. The electricity did not go out,or even flicker in this last snow storm. BF
