Methylfolate is one of the 3 activated vitamins in RX Metanx.

For people who do not methylate normally due to genetic variance/errors, it is the only way to get folate to work in the body.

It cannot hurt to switch your folate to methyl form if you suspect you are affected. There are DNA tests to show this, but most people don't get them.
