Sorry you were uncomfortable by that request. As a court reporter, I don't ask a witness to remove their head dresses. I always try to make my witness comfortable. Their comfort level is important to me. I always carry Kleenex, and witnesses use them quite frequently.

Don't take it personal. I know reporters who do, in the name of being an officer of the court. Meaning, out of respect for the court. I understand their position.
