My best friend, other than my husband, is my dog Sammy.

I rescued him from the pound a little over 3 years ago on my birthday. We don't know how old he is, just that he was fairly young when we got him, or what kind of dog he is, except that he appears to be a mix of long haired doxsie and King Charles Cavalier Spaniel - he is so incredibly cute!!

Sam follows me everywhere, walks at least 3 miles a day with me, and is fiercely protective of me with strangers and other pets. His little body is always so soft and warm. And he can run like the wind - he is way faster than any other dog in our neighborhood.

Since the inception of my RSD I have relied on Sam to more and more for emotional support - he helps me get through my days because he needs his long walks, regular grooming, and when I need a shoulder to cry on I can hug his little body.
