Default Hello Old Friends!

I am sitting here as the snow continues to fall outside my door, and happened upon something in another forum which led me back here to Neurotalk! Oh my, it's been ages since I've been here, but I see and remember many of your names here like Alffe, bizi, befuddled, waves, pamster, etc.

I hope the years have been kind to you all! As for me, things are going well for me and my family. My husband and I will be clelbrating our 35th Anniversary in August of this year, and we're planning on a lovely trip back to Bermuda, where we went on our honeymoon! No real plans yet, but I am starting to look around - keeping our options open.

Both my husband and I both work for the state of NJ, and, although in totally different departments, we actually work in the same building, and commute to work together each day - in our Prius, no less. I've been working for Social Security for nearly 4 years now. It's very hard and intense work, but I really still enjoy it.

As for our family, I can't believe my Grandkids are now 4 and 2. They are so much fun to be with! We're planning a Superbowl shindig with them tomorrow - after we dig our car out of the snow, that is!! I will have to put some pictures up when I get a chance, but I am working on a brand new laptop, and don't have any of my digital pictures downloaded on it yet. This laptop is awesome, tho, and I can't believe it has a 500 gb hard drive!! Things have sure come a long way in the field of electronics.

You all probably remember, too, that I have a daughter who is bipolar. She is doing well, just turned 27! She still lives at home with us, and is collecting Disability herself! She is still a kind, generous and loving person, and she is doing quite well on her combination of meds her doc has her on. She enjoys herself, has friends, hobbies, and LOVES to shop . Now if she could only consistantly help me around the house more! I still suffer from chronic pain, as does she. We are both on pain meds.

In in all, life is good for us now... The only sadness we have had of late is that my Dad passed away in mid-December. He was 89, and he lived a good life. He also had some savings, and we have to sell his home in Northern NJ, which should bring us some change. We feel more confident about our financial future, as a result, but we really do miss my Dad! He was always fond of telling us to make sure we got a good price for his house when he was gone! But first, we have to get rid of all his stuff. He grew up during the Depression, and seemed to never throw anything away! You should see his workshop in the basement - tools from floor to ceiling!!

Well, I didn't think I would write this much... I just wanted to say "HI" to my old friends here. You all helped me through some very tough times back in 2003, and I'll never forget you all for that.

Hugs to the room! Jacquie
