[Slow Internet connection If your Verizon High Speed Internet speed seems unusually slow, step through the checklist below to diagnose the problem.
Run DSL Speed Optimizer. Are you tapping into the full power of your Verizon High Speed Internet connection? Use the DSL Speed Optimizer tool to help you determine if key settings (TCP/IP and MTU) are tuned for optimal performance. Learn more. http://www22.verizon.com/Residential...hree/98885.htm
Turn your modem off and then back on. Most Internet connectivity problems can be solved by turning the modem off and then back on again. Turn your modem off, wait 15 seconds, and then turn it back on. After waiting 45 seconds to allow the modem to synchronize with the server, try reconnecting to the Internet. ]

*Optimizer needs to used with IE browser -not Firefox *
I did it and did a reboot and seems to be faster loading the pages.

Jo:
I'm not doing ANYTHING right now. It's working just fine, I'm zipping all over the internet. No need to go any faster, because this thing is faster now than before.
One problem we are having is emptying the email folder. Alan has 29,000 emails (because he didn't have the computer for 3 weeks). We've been trying to empty the folder and we are always told "error, we cannot complete this task"
It lets you do 80 at a time, but why the heck can't we empty the folder.
I click on the word 'EMPTY", and I get a prompt: "Are you sure you want to empty this folder?' and I click on "yes", and then it tells me
Sorry, error we cannot complete this task.
I bet I have to call up Verizon and get them to do this. I'll have them test my modem at the same time.
But as for everything else, it's all 4 green lights, my computer is zipping around and I'm a happy camper.
AND I'M STILL SPROUTING. lol
