Sarah - They determined that DD18 was actually having migraines that was causing the nystagmus and thus causing the severe vertigo. She gets completely immobilized when this happens and has tingling and numbness as well. They gave her valium and Antivert to help her and she would spend about a week on the couch not moving.

I know you have been experiencing bad vertigo as well and I hope they find something that will resolve yours. DD18's vertigo was so bad they couldn't even do the exam in the ER. They pumped her up with IV valium so they could do the exam. I know where you are coming from and I have so much empathy for people who have to go through that.

I am glad to hear you are doing somewhat better.
