Hi Kathy, Just wanted to share my experience with Blue Cross. Following breast biopsy, I got frozen shoulder (really rsd not diagnosed for 4 years)
Anyway, I was having physical therapy every week sometimes twice- I decided to do massage therapy the hour before to warm up my muscles to get further in the pt. I was paying $60 an hour for the massage. After abot 6 months my Rehab Dr. wanted me to see an ortho surgeon. He said I needed surgery to break it loose. I said will I still need pt? (really torture is the better word) and he said YES more pt. I said No.
I went home and called my insurance company-main office for the state.
Told them what the ortho wanted to do, but I preferred staying with my massage therapy and physical therapy. I asked, would you like to may for my massage therapy or the surgery? He said just a minute---came back to the phone and said yes, just send the massage receipts to them and they would reimburse me. YEAH FIGHT for what is fair!
Hope they reconsider! Keep in touch and let us know how it's going! Your friend with big soft hugs, loretta
