Hi Azaila,
I had about 6 to 8 sessons of acupuncture about a year and a half ago for my lower limb RSD. I had gone to a treatment after work and both my lower legs and feet were burning when I arrived! The acupunturist inserted the needles into my earlobe area and forehead, NOT into my RSD limb .
After about 20 minutes the terrible burn started to subside....the treatment relaxed me and that in itself also probably lowered my pain level..
I tried to get more treatments authorized but the insurance dropped the ball...
There are insertion points in the outer part of the ear that effect limbs, etc, so that needles need not be directly inserted into the RSD site. I have read differing reports of people who have tried acupuncture with RSD...some successful, some not....
If and when I have the opportunity again, I will pursue the treatment ..
Let us know how it goes if you give it a try...make sure your have a competent practitioner..such as an M.D who is also trained in traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture...
I hope it works for you!!
Hope4thebest
