Hi Pinehurst ~ I had the SCS implanted, but I had the trial for the pump. They told me the pump would be the same as the SCS.
I assume she has incisions in her upper back for the leads. There probably is a couple there for those. Then there should be an incision in her side (at least one) for the "pump" itself ~ or wherever they put the pump. So yes, there should be probably 3 incisions. I doubt they are very big. Are you concerned about them or are they infected? Or is it just the number of incisions? It's NOT unusual at all, so you dont have anything to worry about.
I hope this helps. If they DO begin to get red or inflamed, call her doc especially if she develops a fever, ok? God bless and good luck! Peace, Lee
