Working for an optometrist, I have to say first, always get this checked, just to be safe.

I never thought about this being connected to neuropathy, makes sense though, it can effect everything else in your body, why not your eyes. I have very dry eyes, sometimes they just sting a little, sometimes they are very gritty and sore. It comes and goes with the seasons...for now, we are having very nice weather, which causes a pollen that messes with my eyes. In the winter, the fans for the heaters cause dry eyes, driving causes dry eyes. I have been tested for Sjogrens and it came back negative. Some days I live with my Systane or Refresh bottle attached to my hand, sometimes I go a few days with no problems. For now, the burning is terrible. Hmmm, my feet are burning too, connected????

We urge all doctors to take time to listen to your patients.. don't "isolate" symptoms but look at the whole spectrum. If a patient tells you s/he feels as if s/he's falling apart and "nothing seems to be working properly", chances are s/he's right!
