There is paraphrase of an old axiom. When the patient tells the doctor, "My ears ring when I am around loud music. What should I do?" The doctor responds. "Stop being around loud music."

Many PCS sufferers have difficulty with loud noises. Tinnitus is also a common complaint. Learning the triggers to your tinnitus will help you avoid those triggers.

The difficulty discerning voices from background sounds is a common PCS problem. Personally, I need to ask the other person to join me in a quieter location so we can continue the conversation. If it is a public auditorium, foam ear plugs often help to reduce the background noise and echos.

This problem is due to damage to the brain system that filters auditory input so that the important sounds are processed through to conscious thought while the background noises are filtered out.

Good luck with this struggle. If you find a solution, let us know. Many of us could use some help in this area.
