Foot pain should really be seen by a good podiatrist.

But this site is very good, and may help you some:
Look around the site and you will find it very interesting.

Look around there. Sometimes pain in the instep is due to
lacing shoes too tightly...this site gives instructions on how to take pressure off the top of the foot.

But there are many many possible causes. From pinched nerves,
arthritis, Charcot foot (diabetics), stress fractures, tendon problems, spurs, etc.

For minor foot pain, try the over the counter pain patches called Salonpas. These may take down some minor inflammation.
But they do not really help serious issues, which might need medical help.
