A few days after rsurgery, we took him to hospital emergency room where we were told "we can't do anything for him that you cant do at home. Why are they so afraid to give him pain relief meds? Seems to me any possible addiction wouldn't be likely when a person is suffering so much??Anything that will help that we as family can do for him??

hello jackie

blood patches do not always work it is real important to lay flat and no exertion for a long time after the patch if you are in the USA I can recommend a doctors / surgeons who are specialists in this field

please see link to post http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread59605.html

orthostatic headaches due to csf leaks can be helped by laying flat, dose this help ? fluid intake is important to try to keep it to normal levels

your surgeon should have used duraseal or similar http://www.durasealinfo.com/imageSer...pplication/pdf

above all I would recommend talking with the surgeon asap I have had a intermittent skull leak for over two years once a fistula has formed in my opinion they are harder to fix
best wishes
