I'm just so sorry he's faced with this battle. And if my memory serves me correctly, you mentioned his injury was job-related?
I hope other's will jump on your thread and give you support and info specific to what your son is facing.
How long ago was his injury and when was he 'officially' diagnosed with CRPS? Is his pain contained to only one part of his body, or has it spread?
Not trying to be 'nosey' Just thought it would help to have a little more to go on.
There is such a wide spectrum of scenerios, it's almost impossible to come to any conclusion, even by reading many testimonies....what it will ultimately boil down to is his own personal decision (and hopefully with a Dr who is truly looking out for his best interest, rather than just wanting to make another sale of these very pricey units!!)
Please keep your thread updated so we can be 'with' you as you and your son go thru this
You are in my prayers

Well I tried to post earlier and for some reason it didn't show (perhaps it's my dialup internet).
This injury is job related and occurred in June 08. He has seen several doctors; his primary physician first felt back in August of 08 that he had CRPS. Back then he wasn't the primary and Workman's Comp was dragging their feet. The pain was first limited to the right arm and shoulder, however, migrated to his right leg and foot after the FCE was conducted. He has already had two IME's, now a third is scheduled for early April; unlike the two previous ones, which were made up of only one doctor, this panel will have a total of four, lasting two days. I feel this is an exit strategy for the insurance carrier but that's my opinion.
Thanks for your words and concerns.

Al
