Absolutely, when I go to the local Safewa*, it takes me quite a while to shop. I read labels. In addition to other things, I suffer from migraine and have since I was around 12 years old. I tell you, it is a real eye opener when you start reading the ingredients on prepackaged meals, soups, etc. Most are LOADED with preservatives.
The additives, MSG and autolyzed yeast extract are my worse offenders. I also eliminate caffeine, red wine, and eat other known offenders only in moderation (although I LOVE aged cheese and that is apparently a big offfender).
This was all prompted by a migraine neurologist that I saw years go at Hopkins - Dr. Buccholtz. He wrote a book about food additives and migraines. I don't believe everything he preaches but who knows? Maybe, diet is more interwoven with health than we realize.
I have been on this anti-migraine diet for many years... it seems to help me. My husband says it makes him feel better as well, and he has no health problems.
