Dental work and self hynosis, Dr. Scott Fried
Dr. Scott Fried has treated our family nearly two decades now. He is amazing compasionate and supportive to W/C cliental, He is very throurgh in exams and treatment. It is work to follow through on his plans. Testing, and a plan. It is not a visit a med and cure, or even surgery and cure. After years of finding post op patients with needs, he went deeper into the physiology of TOS.
He is located in Blue Bell, PA near Phila, below Allentown.
His website is at www.nervepain.com where you can sign up for his newsletter and read his site. He has authored a few books availble on Amazon, and I think his office will ship.
This is an article was on dental work and how to make it more bearable.....

Dear Friends
It is quite amazing to me how we so often forget to use the innate power of our own bodies and minds to make life easier and to heal. I recall one of our self-hypnosis training sessions some time ago when one of my patients related his frustration and discomfort during a dental procedure. He was telling us what a miserable experience it was and describing it in a good amount of detail. One of the ladies sitting across the room from him sympathetically asked why he had not used his self-hypnosis for comfort and anxiety relief. She told us that she had just undergone a very similar procedure and asked her dentist if it would be okay for her to place herself in light self-hypnosis for her comfort. He was fine with this and she related a much more comfortable and in fact very rewarding experience. My other patient's answer to her query was simply "I never thought of it".
In fact, most of us forget regularly how very good our bodies are at taking care of us if we simply relax and let them do their thing. Cuts heal, blood pressure lowers, headaches go away (or don't even start) and yes, our level of discomfort in uncomfortable situations decreases, when we remember to relax and slow down.
I thought you might be interested in what other people are doing with the information they learn about self-hypnosis.
If you have not read Sandy Corso's delightful column, www.peacefuldaily.com, I highly recommend it. Sandy has a wonderful ability to find health, happiness and good for your body and soul facts and shares them. She read some of the suggestions in my book about helping children to relax and heal and gave them a whirl. And of course, they worked. It was her belief and willingness to accept that we all have this power that made her the healer. I wanted to share this and encourage you to start teaching all those you love how good it feels to relax, and how powerful healing is when you believe.
