typically cats and dogs can tolerate prednisone much better than humans and don't develop the nasty side effects which make them such a mixed blessing for us. i knew one cat who was deteriorating quickly at the age of 17. the vet put him on a daily dose of pred, and that cute old guy lasted another 5 years. now if i could only figure out a way to grow fur and a tail . . .
