When I had my veeg my neurosurgeon drilled 7 holes in my head 4 on the right side and 3 on the left side. Then they put the depth electrodes directly on my brain where they thought the sz. were coming from. After the surgery was done they had me on video around the clock except when I was in the restroom. One thing they did that was helpful to me is they installed a 25 ft. cable so I could get up and walk around my room instead of just laying in bed all the time.
This surgery was more risky than the ultrasound surgery I had done a yr. later but my surgeon was able to get more detail on the area of the brain that was triggering sz.
