Default Hello everyone, I'm new here!

Hello! My name is Shanda, and I'm confused on somethings my neuro told me. I'll explain my diagnosis, and hopefully someone can help me a little. In March 05, I had right side numbness, and was put in the hospital for a stroke or MS, had the LP done, and protiens were elevated. Had to learn how to walk all over again, and when I left no diagnosis given at that time.

Went to my regular dr. and she said everything came back negative for a stroke, went to neuro, and he said for MS things didn't fit right in a circle. Didn't get much better over the year so in October 06 went back to regular dr., and finally in December got back into my neuro. I had an MRI on the 14th of Dec., and went to him on the 21st., and he told me that I had new lesions on my brain, and said I had MS, with those and all my smptoms.

All the symptoms I have are MS symptoms. He scheduled me for an LP on Janurary 4th, and I went back on the 24th. On this day he told me I didn't have MS now. I'm very confused by this diagnosis. I've scheduled to go to another neuro b/c the one I see now doesn't explain anything or anwser any questions for me. He comes in the room tells you something, and is back out of the room with no explaintation for anything.

I've read that only two things need to be wrong for MS, you have to have lesions consistent that didn't happen at the same time, and you've had to have at least 2 relapses. Does this mean your LP must be positive also for you to have MS. Please help me, if anyone has any idea. I go to my new neuro Tuesday morning, so if you have any suggestions please help me.

Sorry so long, and hope not to confusing, have alot of memory loss, and can't remember what i siad two lines ago.
