Don't worry, Kathie...You can totally laugh...The things we gotta deal with are so bad sometimes that they seem hilarious in a weird sorta way! lol

That's really weird that your doctor doesn't think you can have a thymoma. In fact, that's so weird, that it almost seems like he doesn't know anything about MG/thymoma.

I was 26 when they discovered mine. That's odd. Usually, thymoma is discovered in people who are between 40/60, so you are prime age to have one. When I was first diagnosed with this, the first thing I was asked to do is have a CT scan to rule out thymoma, even though my doc. totally didnt' expect for me to have one.

You really need to have one done. This is protocol. I've never heard of a bump like this, or at least I didn't have one. I think you should definately ask to have a CT scan done to check for thymoma.

Stellatum,

I agree with Annie that whatever is causing your problems should be figured out first before taking something like prednisone. Since it causes muscle weakness as a side-effect, this could make you much worse, especially if what you have isn't caused by a problem with autoimmunity.

I think it's awesome that you sent the letter to your students...i know what you mean about wanting to let people know what's up beforehand...I often ask people I know to let others know who are acquaintances of mine so that they wont look at me strangely if my speech gets really bad...
