I am in agreement with the others that starting Pred may cause you more problems than you have now. I have been on Pred since Oct, my highest dose was 60 mg EOD, am now down to 25 EOD. When I first started taking it I felt like I had this magic little pill that gave me incredible energy and helped my droopy eyelid and vision problems. It didn't take long though for the side effects to start and if I could go back I don't think I would take it again. I have had sooo many side effects, insomnia, irritability, weight gain, fluid retention and like Nicky mentioned it seems to have all gone to my middle. I think I am very sensitive though to most meds. I started Cellcept about 2 months ago and did fine at 1,000 mg a day but when it was upped to 2,000 I started having some scary side effects. I am having memory loss which is scaring me to death!!! That is a whole other issue though and not related to your pred question. I would definitely hold off if at all possible and see what the MG specialist has to say. I wish you luck and please keep us posted.
