I had SCS surgery which will be 2 years ago in November, so 1.5 years. It took a long time for the burning to go away totally. There are times now that I still have burning and, more specifically, itching around the battery. Yes, I have the hot burning on the left side of my face. I have RSD which started in my left arm. My SCS can't reach my face.

I would talk with your doctor about getting a lidoderm cream to put around the area. It'll hurt to put it on, but hopefully it'll cool the burning.
