Default Oxc

Hi,I've been interested to hear about Oxcarbazepine also, especially with regard to availability and pricing as it is not available in all countries.

My findings are that in the main it is an additional drug which is used for the treatment of epilepsy, similar to carbamazepine and neurontin. It is often found to be more tolerable than carbamazepine , eg it may work faster for you and cause less drowsyness.

Guidelines seem to fall between 600 to 2400mg. Once again, you need to do your own research, get advice from people who have taken it, and as always discuss with your doctor. As with all drugs, there are side effects which are relative to the dosage that you take.

I was told by a OXC user that unlike tegrotol it is passed out of the body and not stored in it - which of course would be better for you. On lower doses it does not seem to have many side effects at all. On higher does of around 3600mg the pain seemed to be kept at bay for longer than on Tegretol.

However we're all different!
