  • Parkinson’s disease (PD) is one of the most common chronic neurodegenerative diseases in the elderly. Because PD is a progressive disease, the range and severity of symptoms in PD patients vary greatly during the course of the disease, as do complications inherently associated with some of the therapies used to treat PD symptoms. Therefore, treatment goals change as PD patients progress from one stage of the disease to the next, resulting in a high rate of polypharmacy that is unique among neurological disorders
