This is their bread and butter, it's their job. They have numbers in their head, not pictures of people suffering. I'm not sure what ever can be done to "create" compassion and devote the manpower and dollars in the most urgent way. They are very curious about how and why we fall apart, but can't put us back together again and never will with the meds we have now.
