Just to add to this discussion a bit, I have issues with many foods. I know pain meds mess with our digestion too, yet outside of that, many foods cause constipation too. I found quite by accident, dairy was causing me to have insomnia...now if I get some dairy, I get constipation too. Recently, I added pecans to my list of foods, and they caused constipation for me. My food list is very limited, so when something new is added, it is very easy for me to figure out the culprit.

I love the little individual prunes, but can't have them anymore while on a yeast overgrowth diet.

I read yesterday too, when constipated, drink lots of water. Actually, it says to drink 2 quarts of water daily for your health..I probably drink 1 quart a day.

We urge all doctors to take time to listen to your patients.. don't "isolate" symptoms but look at the whole spectrum. If a patient tells you s/he feels as if s/he's falling apart and "nothing seems to be working properly", chances are s/he's right!
