For as long as I can remember, whenever I cry...if I chew or clamp down my teeth, even a little while I'm crying I'll get this sharp, stabbing, zapping/burning like pain that starts in my head (temporal area) and runs down to my chin. It is only on the right side of my face, quite severe, but if I clamp down a few times, it will still hurt, but will lessen a bit...kind of like relieving pressure.
I was just curious if this sounds like Trigeminal Neuralgia to any of you. I haven't spoken to anyone about it because I don't have an MD or insurance and I can never remember to bring it up. So I just wanted to get some feedback.
Thanks all.

Hi Maralyn, I have been diagnosed by my neuro with Tri. Nerve. It usually just affects one side of your temporal area and will go down one side of face, Mine feels like somene has driven an ice pick in my temple. It's extremely painful, will numb side of face lips. I also have had RSD 15 years and take several meds. I don't believe there is a cure, having rsd, I would never consider a surgery that is done for it and is risky.
Hope someone here can bring you comfort. your friend, loretta
