Confused

Hi,

My name is Kim and I was hoping to get some help with something. Over a year ago I had my upper molar pulled in the right side due to an abscess, it was a root canal tooth. The tooth next to it was not feeling all that well so I went back and they said it needed a root canal so I got one. During the root canal they noticed a fracture but kept going as they thought it did not go into the gum line. I did sit on that for about a year until I could no longer sit on it. I went to a new dentist and they sent me to an Endodontist and he said there were two fractures to the tooth and he was not sure if they went into the gum line and suggested we could "try" to save the tooth with a crown... so I did. Immediately after the procedure it became clear that this was not going to work so I went and had the tooth pulled.

I have huge roots and sinuses and the roots were in the sinus area, this was tooth #30. They did the extraction and said the tooth was so bad it came out in a million pieces and the area was so aggravated. I went on to get dry socket and had to have the area packed 3 to 4 times a week and it was very painful of course. All the while the area just never felt right to me, still felt like tooth pain in the area and pain in my jaw, face and eye.

A month after I am still having pain issues and shooting pain in my jaw, face and eye as well as horrible throbbing when I do any kind of physical activity. I went back to the doc and he took a look and he was not happy about the site and the way it was healing. I guess it has not filled in properly and there is a red ring around the tissue that has filled in so now he wants to go back into the site and clean it all out again and start from scratch. He is wondering if there is a puncture of the sinus we missed, although the sinuses look good on the xray. My sister in law thinks it is bone spurs... I wonder if there is something left of the root in there, maybe in the sinus? If any of this were the case would it show in the x-ray?

I am just defeated by all of this and I am so ready for it to be over so I can move on and be back to normal. Is there any words of wisdom for me? Anything I should ask or know about this procedure? I worry about the chances of dry socket, will it feel like it did when I had the extraction. HELP!

It seems like they did a bunch of work on this tooth that did not have a chance, with the two fractures one down and one across the tooth should have been pulled from the start perhaps, I see that now when I read things on this site.
