Hi Jo, Sorry about the terrible weekend you are having. I would be upset and apprehensive about surgery too if i were in your position, but sometimes it seems like we just have to take what is offered. I live in a very rural area with only two practices that deal with RSD that are within my driving distance. My pain doc also says mine is not spreading even though the fierce pain and burning are moving through my shoulder, neck and head. I also have confirmed heart involvement now, and am waiting on an echo to assess the amount of damage. You may want to start the lengthy disability process now as it can take several years to even have your case cracked open and looked at. I hope you find some relief from your pain soon and this will allow you to make wise and informed decisions regarding your health. Peace to you, Lisa
