I would compare it to having a bad sunburn that kills the top layer of skin that eventually flakes off. There is no extra pain, and it is not gradual. It just happens suddenly, where the skin layer on both hands flakes of spontaneously. There does not seem to be a pattern or any indicators as to when it will happen. I would say on average it happens once a month or more.
Has anyone heard of this, or is anyone familiar with it? Since it is not painful (it does not add to my CRPS pain level when it happens) I am not that concerned about it. But I am just wondering if it is common for CRPS, or if it possibly relates to something else. Thanks for any input. God Bless You All.

Hi Bernclay and Welcome. I've very sorry you have this. A lot of us have skin issues-mine is little infections, or rashes. There are some medications that cause skin flaking off. You might ask your Dr. if you are on any of them.
You'll find wonderful support and encouragment here. Very compassionate and caring friends. We are always happy to help or research information. One of your new friends, loretta
